The place was great.

If you're in town for I-Cubs baseball, this is a great location - And it's not too much further to downtown Des Moise either - My big concern prior was parking as you only get one parking pass and you're limited to half (building side) of the parking lot - But with two cars we never had a problem (4 days, Thurs thru Sun) - there was street parking a plenty right there next to the building parking lot - For two guys, one on the over-sized couch, one bed, all good - Floors however, both laminate (kitchen/living room) and carpet (bedroom) hadn't been cleaned in some time - Even more dust/debris under the kitchen and coffee tables which clearly aren't moved when it is cleaned - Also supposed to have a fob to the building gym (and rooftop patio) but last guest never returned it and when we asked, we were told they'd see about dropping one off...they never did - Building was crazy quiet and we rarely saw anybody when we came and gone each day/night - Price was reasonable, but to check in early (before 4:00 pm ct) when it's clearly not cleaned each time seemed excessive - So, some good with some bad - If we did it again next year we'd probably look around first...but this is not the worst fallback option

Where to start? First, let's say the building has a certain skunky smell to it. The odor is clearly a problem at this location as the property management has addressed the issue with a written letter to all its tenants asking them not to partake of a certain activity that involves lighting up a certain leafy plant (not talking about tobacco) - a copy of which is on display in the rental unit! Concerning their parking permit, their own documentation for the property stresses the importance of proper display of their parking permit or your vehicle will get towed. It is obvious that their parking permit is an important document for the duration of your stay. Despite that, when we arrived, they had no parking permit in our unit. We immediately notified our host, but there was only the host's message service to talk to. It turns out there was no way to contact the real host directly to get issues resolved. An important factor in our decision to rent was the added security of having off-the-street parking. Due to the host being inaccessible and the lack of the ability for the renter to directly contact the host, we had to park on the street for the duration of our stay. We would've never selected this location if we knew ahead of time we would have to park on the street. In the end, we were not given the support we needed, so we were forced to park in the street. Our issue was met with indifference and complete absence of the host.

Host was always responsive. Location was a little out of the way, but walkable to downtown area. River Park across the street is very nice. Lots of potential for future growth.

I would recommend this rental to everyone. Very accessible location. Excellent restaurant across the street. Easy access to downtown and the freeway.
