The ring doorbell was not stellar as it is invasive and kept falling out but otherwise the place was nice. The host was accommodating.

Comfortable, fun, great space! Positive: Great location. Fun view of downtown… Negative: No exhaust fan cover in primary bath was pretty ugly. Bad carpet stains in primary bedroom. No parking in lot was available.

Overall it was a good stay. Appreciated the cheapness of the stay. Could use a few more cooking supplies and towels and blankets but overall it was good.

Not very clean. Drawers were messy, floors were sticky. Did not have pillow cases on all pillows. Master bedroom had two dirty towels. The elevator stopped working and we were forced to carry luggage up to the 4th floor and there was rarely any parking available and always had to find street parking or paid parking elsewhere.The worst of the stay was the last night when the host called and texted at 3am, multiple times, while myself, my children, husband and brothers family were all sleeping, and was told I need to evacuate the property immediately because of “unauthorized guests”. I was told that police would be called if we didn’t pack up and leave within 15 minutes of the first text being sent. I was EXTREMELY confused and upset as we certainly did NOT have unauthorized guests on the property. Only to be sent footage of multiple people entering a completely different apartment. I told them it was not our apartment and it was confirmed there was a mix up, but we were already rattled and upset and awake at 3am the day before a long day of travel. We were told we would receive some sort of accommodation, but still have not received word of any sort of resolution. Not impressed at all.

Great location - within a mile of downtown Des Moines. Awesome balcony view of the city. Serenely quiet. Easy access to downtown, botanical gardens, restaurants, parks, & art venues, etc. Hosts are top-notch; very responsive & helpful. Only minimally adverse comment I offer is the unit is lacking some items I have historically found in other VRBOs, e.g., toaster, cork screw, measuring spoons & cups, dish towels, wash cloths, etc. and the unit is very sparsely furnished (no wall hangings, area rugs. But I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others to do so.
